Inquiry Learning
Students at St Pius X are given the opportunity to be involved in Inqury Learning. This method of learning involves the student being immersed in new experiences, and then taking part in a collective or individual quest to explore and develop particular knowledge and skills. New learning can then be applied in a way that is relevant to the lives of our children.
The Inquiry Learning model is applied to teach a number of curriculum areas throughout the school year, including:
- The Arts
- Civics & Citizenship
- Economics & Business (Yr 5&6)
- Geography
- Health
- History
- Science
- Technologies
Student learning cycles through these areas over a two year timeframe, with the exception of Foundation students who participate in a one year cycle. Access the links below to view our current inquiry learning cycles (please note these are reviewed and modified annually).
