Walktober has been running during the month of October and is to help establish healthy habits, especially being active on the way to and from school. Students are encouraged to walk, ride, scoot or catch the bus to school during this month. At St Pius, we encourage this healthy activity all year and we collect daily data on how students travel to school.
Yesterday we celebrated Walk to School day and 67% percent of students actively travelled to school. All children who rode, scooted, walked or travelled by bus went into the draw for some spot prizes and all students received a wrist band, thanks to Nicole Wood and the WCC for these prizes. The local school with the highest percentage of travel activity will win two vouchers for next bikes! Fingers crossed for St Pius X!
The top three classes were JP5 with 67%, MP4 with 93.8% and the Winning room was SP4
